An Afternoon of Football, Friendship and Solidarity in Toledo
It was the third edition of the Pre-Corpus Charity Tournament, organized by Europa Press. An event that is gradually becoming a fixture in Toledo’s calendar and a reminder that football can be about much more than the final score.
This year, all funds raised during the event were donated to Club Deportivo Escaleno, an organization that does outstanding work promoting sports participation for people with disabilities and encouraging inclusion through physical activity. A cause that gave even greater meaning to an already special day.
For a few hours, goals, tackles and competition shared the spotlight with something even more important: friendship, reunions and a collective willingness to support a charitable initiative. In the end, what mattered most was not the result on the scoreboard, but the positive atmosphere and the satisfaction of contributing to a cause that helps more people enjoy the benefits of sport.
At Restoledo, we were proud to support this event as sponsors because it reflects the sense of community we strongly believe in. We like to be involved when our city comes together for a good cause, supporting activities that have a positive impact on Toledo and contribute to people's wellbeing.
We also share the values behind events like this. Physical activity is essential for a healthy lifestyle, but it also promotes respect, effort, inclusion and teamwork. Values that extend far beyond the football pitch and help build a stronger society.
Perhaps that is why the most important moments of the afternoon were not the goals. They were the conversations on the sidelines, the shared laughter, the applause and the feeling of being part of something greater than a football match.
Some events end when the final whistle blows. Others leave a lasting memory: that of a city coming together, sharing experiences and supporting a common cause.
We have captured some of those moments in a highlights video, now available on our YouTube channel. We invite you to watch it and relive a day that reminded us that when sport and social commitment play on the same team, everyone wins.
Because some matches are won on the pitch. Others are won by an entire city.
